to the second attempt at an online forum!

After a steep learning curve involving terms like php and wiki and bringing back bad memories with others such as SQL not to mention abuse from phpBB2, phpBB3 and the delightful and successful smf as they fought a battle for my favours we now have a lovely new Simple Machines Forum. The advantage of this package is, I hope, better support for pictures and other attachments than the phpBB forum software. Plus I like their help pages! And I also now know a lot more about the workings of my webhosting company, ixwebhosting, whose own software has worked perfectly and simply once I got introduced to a selection of servers I'd not met before, each with their own username and password. Arghh!

As yet I have no idea how to fly the admin control panel for SMF so please be patient as I try to assign everyone the right priveleges and figure out how to keep my SQL well 'pruned' and the threads untangled and so on.

All ideas and crits much appreciated though.
